On the night of December 26, the Health Ministry said that Vietnam had just registered a new case of COVID-19 (BN 1440) traveling from Myanmar to Thailand, Cambodia illegally entering and returning home in Vinh Long province.
According to epidemiological information, on December 15, patient 1440 (32 years old, resident of Phu Thanh B Hamlet, Nhon Phu Commune, Mang Thit District) was transferred from Myanmar by truck to Mae Sot District (Taksin Province, Thailand). The patient remained in Thailand until 10:00 PM on December 22, followed by a truck (sitting in the back of the car, unable to remember the driver and license plate) along with six other people to move to Cambodia.
Here, the patient stays with two other people at home waiting with two other people (Vietnamese nationality) to illegally cross the border back to Vietnam.
At approximately 2 am on December 24, the patient was taken to a truck and taken to the border gate in Tay Ninh province (the patient only remembers that the driver is a man with no name). At 5 a.m. the same day, the patient arrived at the border gate to meet a truck carrying goods, from where the patient sat in the back of the car and drove to Ho Chi Minh City.
The patient was then moved from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh Long in a 16-seat passenger car (the patient claimed to remember only the white / silver car and in the car there were about four people accompanying but not sitting in it row of seats).
During the process of returning to Vinh Long, patients stopped at the Minh Phat scale (Cai Be district, Tien Giang province) for the period of 7 hours 30 minutes – 7 hours 45 minutes on December 24.
After that, the patient stopped at the Vinh Long province welcome gate area (Tan Ngai ward, Vinh Long city) and was transported by a motorcycle driver (in a blue and black Wave car) to the city of Cai Nhum (Mang Thit district). to visit mom’s house to get keys and a private car.
On the way home, the patient stopped by to buy cigarettes at the Bay Su supermarket near her mother’s house.
According to a report by authorities, after reviewing BN 1440’s close contact list (F1) above, there were 10 people traveling from Thailand, Cambodia to the border gate, a trucker (going from the Tay Ninh border gate to Ho Chi Minh City), five people traveled from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh Long City, seven people were relatives, medical officers and police investigated. It is worrying that all the people accompanying patients from abroad to Vinh Long are unclear.
In addition, the competent force is determining the information and the number of contact persons near BN 1440 at the Minh Phat stop and the Bay Su grocery store.
