According to the Ministry of Health, 1 new case (BN1440) is an illegal entry, it has been quarantined in Vinh Long. As follows:

DISEASE 1440 (BN1440): male, 32 years old, Vietnamese nationality, domicile in Nhon Phu Commune, Mang Thit District, Vinh Long Province. BN1440 is a case from Myanmar who entered illegally via the open road (location verification) at 2am, 24-12 and returned home to Vinh Long.

Immediately after reaching the family, the patient’s relative immediately reported to local police for timely isolation and sampling in Vinh Long. On December 24, the Vinh Long Center for Disease Control took a sample and sent it to the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City for analysis on December 25.

The results of tests from the Dec. 26 Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, patients tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently, the patient is isolated and treated at Vinh Long Hospital for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases. All F1 and F2 contact cases have been listed and quarantined according to regulations.

Vinh Long Province Health Sector has cooperated with Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute and related units to further research and expand. This is the 1,440th case of COVID-19 recorded since the beginning of the epidemic season in Vietnam.

On the same day, the Ministry of Health announced that it had continued to inject volunteers with the COVID-19 vaccine group manufactured in Vietnam at a dose of 50 mcg. There will be 20 volunteers injecting this dose group out of a total of 60 volunteers who received this vaccine.
