According to the Ministry of Health, 6 new cases (BN1434-1439) are all entry cases, isolated in Tra Vinh province (2 cases), Hanoi (1 case) and Hung Yen province (3 cases). Specifically:

DISEASE 1434 (BN1434) in Tra Vinh: male, 28 years old, Vietnamese citizen, residing in Le Loi Ward, Vinh City, Nghe An Province.

DISEASE 1435 (BN1435) in Tra Vinh: female, 44 years old, Vietnamese citizen, residing in Nguyet Hoa commune, Chau Thanh district, Tra Vinh province.

On December 22, the aforementioned UK patients entered Can Tho airport on flight VN50, were immediately quarantined and sampled for testing at Tra Vinh. In the first test on December 23, patients tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Currently, patients are isolated and treated at Tra Vinh Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital. Previously, on this flight, there were 4 positive cases for SARS-CoV-2, isolated at Vinh Long.

DISEASE 1436 (BN1436) in Hanoi: male, 44 years old, expert, Brazilian nationality. On December 24, a patient from Qatar entered Noi Bai airport on flight QR8954, immediately quarantined himself and took samples for testing in Hanoi. Test results 1 day 25-12 positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently, the patient is isolated and treated at Dong Anh Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

CASE 1437 (BN1437) in Hung Yen: male, 38 years old, Vietnamese citizen, residing in Xuan Thoi Thuong Commune, Hoc Mon District, HCMC.

CASE 1438 (BN1438) in Hung Yen: male, 37 years old, Vietnamese citizen, residing in Nguyen Du neighborhood, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi.

DISEASE 1439 (BN1439) in Hung Yen: female, 29 years old, Vietnamese citizen, residing in Truc Hung commune, Truc Ninh, Nam Dinh province.

On December 18, previous patients from Germany entered Van Don International Airport on flight VN5036, immediately quarantined and sampled for testing in Hung Yen. On December 24, the patient tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.

Currently, patients are in isolation and treated at Dong Anh Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases. Previously, on this flight, there were 2 positive cases for SARS-CoV-2, isolated in Hung Yen.

With 6 new cases, since the beginning of the epidemic season, Vietnam has registered 1,439 COVID-19 patients, of which 1,303 people have been cured and discharged from the hospital.

With this number, Vietnam ranks 170th among countries and territories with outbreaks of COVID-19. In which, the death rate related to COVID-19 is 0.4 / 1 million people, which is low in the world (in the US it is 1,015, India is 106, Russia is 368, France is 953.. .).
