He also suggested that the number of specialized agencies should not exceed 13 units. The total number of deputies to the specialized bodies of the People’s Committee of the city of Thu Duc does not exceed 39 people.
According to Nguyen Thanh Phong, the city of Thu Duc, after its formation, will act as the largest innovation center in Vietnam. The role of science and technology in the development of the city of Thu Duc is very important.
Therefore, among the specialized agencies of Thu Duc City, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong proposed to study and establish the Department of Science and Technology. “This function room has a guiding role in building a startup ecosystem for the new administration,” Phong said.
He also wanted the central government to allow the city of Thu Duc to carry out the task of spending on scientific and technological research. Thu Duc City, directly below Ho Chi Minh City, will be the place to transfer new technology to the provinces of the southeastern region and expand the development of technology services and products for the southern key economic region.
“Ho Chi Minh City will propose to the Government specific policies for the development of Thu Duc City. At a time when specific policies cannot be implemented, Ho Chi Minh City will apply the best conditions for this administrative unit, ”said Phong.
