According to the investigation results, for many months Tai faked the identity of a woman, created many social media accounts to advertise that he was acting as a “young lover” broker for older women. Price once “far” 5-10 million.
Approaching the “prey” is a young man, Tai uses a phone to install software to convert the voice from male to female when communicating. He asked these people to submit the phone’s scratch card code to pay the service fees, then texted the time and place of the “customer” he was waiting for.
Tai’s behavior was revealed by the 12/21 contact with a 28-year-old man in Nghèn city, Can Loc district. After closing the price, Tai asked him to send his calling card 6 times with the full amount 23 million dong. Losing the brokerage fee but later unable to contact Tai, the victim knew he had been misled, so he reported it to the police.
After a day of investigation, the police arrested Tai at his home in Hoa Vang District, Da Nang.
The authorities determined that with similar tricks, Tai deceived more than 100 victims, many of whom were in Ha Tinh, appropriating about 200 million VND.
