The Party Central Committee decided to convene the XIII Congress from January 25, 2021 to February 2, 2021 in Hanoi.
The Central Propaganda Department said the above, on the night of December 23. The decision to convene the XIII Congress was made at the XIV Central Conference, Session XII, from December 14 to 18.
According to the draft Document that will be presented to the XIII Congress, this Congress has the task of reviewing the implementation of the XII Congress Resolution associated with the global evaluation of the innovation process; decide the direction, goals, tasks for the next 5, 10 years and the vision for 2045.
XIII Congress also evaluated the implementation of the XII Party Charter; review the leadership of the XII period of the Central Committee of the Party; election of the Central Committee of the Party XIII mandate.
The congress takes place under the slogan: Solidarity – Democracy – Discipline – Creation – Development, with the theme: Strengthen the construction and rectification of the Party and a clean and strong political system; arouse aspirations for national development, promote the will and strength of a great national solidarity combined with the strength of the times; continue to promote innovation in a comprehensive and synchronous manner; to firmly build and protect the Homeland, maintaining a peaceful and stable environment; Fighting through the middle of the 21st century our country becomes a developed country, following the socialist orientation.

In May 2020, 12th Central Conference (Session XII) agreed to present to the XIII Congress the number of new members of the Central Committee is about 200 people, of which 180 official members, 20 alternate members (the number is equal to the XII mandate).
