On the morning of December 19, Hospital Militar 175 officially opened the emergency helicopter airport on the roof of the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics.
This is the first and only military medical helicopter licensed so far.
Previously, complicated emergency cases by air were brought to Tan Son Nhat airport and then collected in a vehicle from Military Hospital 175 for care and treatment.
The new shape helps reduce travel time and heal patients quickly.

At the end of 2019, the heliport is accepted, tested and qualified for its operation and use with the project of the Institute of Trauma and Orthopedics.

According to Major General Nguyen Hong Son, Director of the 175 Military Hospital, after more than a year since the first test flight, the inauguration of the heliport is a preparation process to go through many difficulties.
In order to prepare technical and professional work in coordination between the defense side, the Ministry of Transport, the flight company, the emergency brigade … the units practiced together and received training.
“When the helicopter emergency airport is put into operation, the patient will save a lot of time. Since the plane was parked in the field towards the Emergency Department or directly in the operating room, it only took 3 minutes, ”said Major General Son.
In the next time, the hospital will work together with the Department of Health to develop the heliport’s operating regulations to guarantee the support factor of the people and the care of the patient’s health, in addition to security and defense.
In addition, the hospital will improve the quality of the airport, including having specialized medical aircraft to improve combat capabilities and emergency quality, solving many emergency techniques on the plane.
