This afternoon (December 17), at a regular press conference, the Foreign Ministry denied false information from an international organization when commenting on press freedom in Vietnam.

Before information from the International Organization for the Protection of Journalists (CPJ) said that the policy of probation for pressurization of the Vietnamese government became increasingly strict, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Le Thi Thu Hang emphasizes: “ We flatly reject the false, non-objective and prejudiced content that the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) put forward on the situation in Vietnam.

Vietnam has always supported and ensured the exercise of freedom of the press. This is specified in the 2013 Constitution and many related legal documents, which is clearly demonstrated through the strong development of the Vietnamese press recently.
