Facebook Messenger found a bug: VnExpress digitization

Many Facebook users in Vietnam and some countries around the world cannot send text messages on Messenger since the afternoon of December 10.

This happened in both the phone’s Messenger app and the web browser’s chat feature. On the computer, the message is constantly reporting errors, and at the same time, the Facebook chat frame says “connecting to the network.” Also on the phone, the message does not show a check mark, indicating that it has been sent.

Furthermore, many users also find it very difficult to receive incoming messages, especially messages in the form of photos and videos.

“Initially I thought it was due to the company’s network problem, but even when I use the mobile network, I cannot chat with Messenger, while other websites can access and use normally,” Nguyen Hoang office staff at Cau Giay ( Hanoi), he said.

Some users said that when trying to close the app on the smartphone and turn it back on, the waiting message is sent. However, after that, the above phenomenon was repeated.

On the Downdetector incident tracking page, Messenger bug reports spiked around 5:00 pm This incident was recorded in Europe and some areas of Asia, including the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam. The most frequently reported errors involve receiving messages and connecting to the server.

Per page Quick (UK), more than 2,400 Messenger errors were reported per minute. In addition, many of the country’s users reflected that Facebook and Instagram services were also interrupted and had to go to other platforms to complain about the problem. On Twitter, the #Messengerdown hashtag became one of the most shared keywords in the last hour.

Messenger is one of the most popular chat apps in Vietnam. Statistics on iOS and Android app stores, Messenger continually on top of the most downloaded apps. On the web platform, Facebook.com is also the second most visited address, only behind Google.

Last November, Facebook also had the same problem around the world.
