The signing ceremony of the protocol to export black gelatin from Vietnam to the Chinese market took place this afternoon, 8.12, in the online dialogue between the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong and the Director General of the General Customs Department. Quoc Nghe Nhac Phong on promoting the consumption of agricultural products between the two countries.
Mr. Hoang Trung, Director of the Department of Plant Protection (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), said that after many years of negotiations, this protocol will help Vietnam’s black jelly products to be officially exported to the Chinese market.
Currently, Lang Son has welcomed a delegation of Chinese experts to inspect local methods of production, packaging and preservation of black jelly. This is the town with the largest black jelly sowing area in the country with some 2,000 ha, with a production of over 10,000 tons / year.
According to statistics, black jelly is a high income generating crop for the people of Lang Son with a total value of around 200-250 billion / year. Consequently, China’s opening up to the black jelly market will be a great opportunity to increase people’s income.
According to Hoang Trung, in addition to Lang Son, the Cao Bang provinces or some southern provinces can also develop this crop for export to China.
Also at the conference, the Chinese side said that it had agreed and directed the technical level of the two sides to carry out online or video evaluations and valuation measures for Vietnam swallow nest products.
Additionally, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is also requesting China to consider opening export markets for Vietnam’s durian, sweet potato, grapefruit and passion fruit products. Authorities are considering Vietnam’s proposals to sign the protocol soon.
