At the 51st session, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly will consider and decide on the establishment of Thu Duc City in Ho Chi Minh City; consider and decide on the establishment of Phu Quoc Town and the districts of Phu Quoc Town, Kien Giang Province.
According to the program, at the 51st session, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly will give its comments on the review and receipt of the draft Law on the Prevention and Combat of Drugs (amended); Consider and approve the draft Ordinance on Preferential Treatment for people with meritorious services to the revolution (amended).
At this meeting, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly will consider and decide on the disposition of the administrative units at the district and commune level for the period 2019-2021 and the establishment of Thu Duc City in Ho Chi Minh City ( in including the establishment of the People’s Court, the People’s Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Thu Duc).
Consideration and decision on the establishment: Phu Quoc town and districts of Phu Quoc town, Kien Giang province; Tan Binh City in Bac Tan Uyen District, Binh Duong Province; neighborhoods of Thanh Hoa City, Thanh Hoa Province; Vinh Thach Trung Township in Chau Phu District, Co To Town in Tri Ton District, and Vinh Binh Town in Chau Thanh District, An Giang Province.
The Standing Committee of the National Assembly will also summarize the tenth session and give initial opinions on the preparation of the eleventh session of the National Assembly.
Evaluate the results of the implementation of foreign relations and international cooperation programs in 2020; consider and approve the 2021 program of external activities of the Permanent Commission of the National Assembly and give opinions (direct and regulate) on the program and international cooperation of the Ethnic Council, the Commissions, the friendship group of parliamentarians, agencies of the Permanent Committee of the National Assembly, the State Audit Office and the Office of the National Assembly; Issuing opinion on the adjustment of foreign aid capital in 2020 of Quang Nam province.
In this session, the Permanent Commission of the National Assembly will issue an opinion on the preparations for the election of deputies to the XV National Assembly and the election of deputies to the Popular Councils at all levels for the period 2021-2026.
Including comments on the draft Joint Resolution between the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the Government and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Homeland Front, guiding the consultation process, presenting candidates. Deputies of the XIV National Assembly, Popular Councils of all levels for the period 2021-2026; consider and ratify the Resolutions of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on: detailing and guiding the organization of voter conferences; the introduction of candidates for the Popular Council candidates at the commune level in villages and population groups; consultation, nomination of candidates, preparation of lists of candidates for the National Assembly and candidates for the Popular Council in additional elections (guidance on Clause 5, Article 45, Clause 4, Article 52, Clause 6, Article 54 and Clause 2, Article 92 of the Law of Election of Deputies of the National Assembly and Popular Councils); Guide the determination of the structure, composition and distribution of the number of candidates nominated for deputies of the Popular Council at all levels (guide Clause 3, Article 4 of the Law on the Election of Deputies of the National Assembly and Deputies of People’s Association.
As scheduled, the 51st session of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly will take place on December 9-11, 2020.
