According to the website of the television channel Sky (UK), Mr. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh died in hospital on 27 November after being attacked by an ambush by a machine gun aimed at a vehicle carrying him near the capital, Tehran, Iran.

Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency quoted Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, deputy commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as saying that “the machine gun is equipped with artificial intelligence technology to attack. Cong Mr. Fakhrizadeh.”

According to Ali Fadavi, the gun fired 13 times at Mr. Fakhrizadeh, but his ability to aim was so precise that his wife, Fakhrizadeh, was in the car with her husband at the time.

On December 6, Iran held a memorial service for the assassinated Iranian nuclear scientist.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei called for the need to properly punish those behind Fakhrizadeh’s assassination. Iran’s president accused Israel of being behind the assassination.

Israel has long accused Fakhrizadeh of harboring Iran’s military nuclear program in the early 2000s.

So far, Israel has neither confirmed nor denied that it is related to Fakhrizadeh’s death or not.

However, after this incident, Israel also put its embassies on the highest guard and warned that Israeli targets abroad could be targeted by Iran.
