A federal court judge in Carson City ruled on the Trump campaign’s claim against “electoral irregularities” in the state of Nevada.
“Plaintiff failed in its responsibility to provide reliable and relevant evidence to support any allegation to challenge the results of the Nevada 3/11 election,” said Trial Court Judge James Russell. The federal judge in the city of Carson on April 12 concluded with a 35-page decision.
The verdict was delivered by Judge Russell after a few hours of listening to Trump and Biden’s campaign arguments on December 3. President Donald Trump’s campaign, he declared, “did not even provide any evidence”, much less required “a clear and convincing standard of evidence.”
Under Nevada law, election results are reversed only when one of four situations, including problematic electoral equipment, invalid or illegal voting, the election committee abuses power or hits exchanging election results.
The lawsuit was filed by the electoral candidates proposed by Trump in November, against six Democrats identified as voters of Nevada. In the lawsuit, the Trump campaign claimed that there were tens of thousands of cases of electoral “fraud” in Nevada.
Trump’s campaign attorney alleges that 8,111 votes in Nevada were removed from a false address, 15,681 votes cast from an uninhabited address or business location, 1,506 votes from the dead, 19,218 votes from non-Nevada residents, and 42,284 “many votes. times”. However, they were unable to provide a specific allegedly fraudulent name in court.
The party’s attorneys argued that the Trump campaign’s legal challenge failed to identify the voters accused of fraud, did not provide other evidence to ensure that it “overridden the will of a majority of 1.4 million. Nevada voters” .
Trump supporters are spreading many allegations of voter fraud in Nevada on social media, but Judge Russell insisted they don’t meet any legal standards.
“The contending party could not prove by any legal standard that invalid votes were cast or counted or that valid votes were not counted due to electoral fraud,” he wrote.
He also made the same argument to deny the Trump campaign’s illegal voting accusations, citing no evidence that the dead person’s votes were counted or signature verification issues. ballot by mail.
Judge Russell declared that the expert testimony provided by the Trump campaign “has little or no value.” Russell also asked the Trump campaign to pay the Democrats’ fees.
Republicans in Nevada in a statement on Dec. 4 said they did not accept the decision and will appeal to the Nevada Supreme Court. “The allegations and the evidence we have are too great,” the Republican statement said. “The fight for fair and clean elections continues.”
The Electoral College will meet on December 14 to vote for the next president of the United States. Nevada certified last week’s election results, stating that Biden won by beating Trump with 33,596 votes.
The Trump campaign is trying to pursue many lawsuits in the battlefield states, but no judge has made a decision to reverse the results in favor of the US president.
