The documents related to the case were seized in the villa of Mr. “Thien Soi” the night of 1 to 12
The search for the village “Thien Soi” did not end until the morning of December 2. During the search, the investigating agency seized dozens of boxes of documents related to loan records and interest payments. In particular, the law enforcement agency found that some non-funeral papers were burned, but not all. The police also seized two shotguns and many “red books”.
32.5 billion loan, payment closed 138 billion but I still owe
To better understand the rape of the father and son “Thien Soi”, Tuoi Tre met Mr. LNT (40 years old, resident of Phu My town), who was the petitioner who denounced the usurious behavior of “Thien Soi” with authorities.
T. said that in March 2017, because he needed business money, he repeatedly borrowed money from Mr. Thien up to VND 8 billion. The 10-day interest rate closes once, at 3,500 VND / 1 million / day (equivalent to 0.35% / day and 10.5% / month). By June 2020, Mr. T. “closed the book,” in short, he borrowed a total of VND 32.5 billion from Mr. Thien.
In June 2020, Mr. T. paid Mr. Thien a cash amount of nearly VND 28 billion and four parcels of land that Mr. Thien used as “eviction”. According to Mr. T., the four parcels of land taken to deduct the debt were forced to be priced at VND 110 billion, while in reality the market price was VND 160 billion. Therefore, both in cash and land value, Mr. T. paid Thien almost 138 billion VND. However, at the end of June 2020, Mr. T. is still charged more than 18 billion dong.
Because he could not have money to pay, at the end of June 2020, Mr. T. filed a complaint about Mr. Thien’s loan sharks to the police. According to the complaint, Mr. T. wrote to Mr. Thien that if he does not pay, he will slander his honor and threaten to go to court.
“I am a victim of usury. I advise people not to stay. It is better to live slowly, have so much work. Instead of a usurer, there is no profession that can generate enough money to pay interest,” he said. T. said sadly.

Subtle tricks
Besides Mr. T., there is a case of 10 billion VND loaned by Mr. Thien, he has paid 11 billion VND but owes 10 billion VND. Many victims do not dare to report to the authorities. Some people only dare to denounce when the land is liberated.
According to Mr. T., Mr. Thien’s loan method is to pay interest every 10 days. If there is no money on payday, Thien requests to rewrite a new loan document, including interest that arises from the original amount, and then begins signing a new loan. Thus, it will continue calculating the interest rate of the new debt at the interest rate initially agreed.
According to research, the “Thien Soi” loan tricks are quite sophisticated. That is, when he lends money, Thien asks the borrower to write the amount without recording the interest rate and without a payment date. Also, in the loan notes, Thien only allows the borrower to sign the available contract form provided by him, but Thien does not.
In addition to Mr. T., the investigating agency has also worked with many other victims of his father and son Le Thai Thien. The case is currently being investigated further for clarification.
In the four plots above, there is a cafeteria that Mr. T. has transferred directly to Thien’s daughter, Le TTH. Land of 12,000 m2 in Toc Tien Commune (Phu My Town), Mr. T. transferred to Le Thai Phong (Thien’s son, who is the defendant in the case). For the remaining two parcels of land, Mr. Thien forced the debtors to liquidate by authorizing Le Thai Phong.
