The registration of Dr. Leopoldo Luque’s property began on the morning of November 29, four days after Dieogo Maradona died at his home in Buenos Aires. Prosecutors approved the search warrant in an attempt to clarify whether the soccer legend’s death was caused by the medical negligence of the person directly monitoring Maradona’s health.

The investigations came after Maradona’s daughters, Dalma and Giannina, clearly questioned whether the drug their father was taking was really appropriate. The media in Argentina reported that Dr. Luque was being investigated as a suspect and not simply as a witness.

“Our investigations continue, we are speaking with witnesses including relatives,” said a source close to the San Isidro investigation near Buenos Aires.

Last week, Maradona’s lawyer, Matías Morla, also requested an urgent investigation into the death of his client. Morla said the first ambulance took more than half an hour to reach the house north of Buenos Aires, where the former Napoli and Barcelona star suffered a heart attack. The lawyer also reported that Maradona had not received any medical examination in the 12 hours prior to his death.

The legend of Maradona continues to mourn all

A nephew who stayed with Maradona at his home in San Andrés was the last person to see him have breakfast the day the legend died. After breakfast, Maradona told his relatives “I’m not well” before going back to bed. But reports from the investigative agency say Maradona had never eaten anything before.

Even Maradona’s own nurse admitted that she lied about her morning checkup. This confession further increased suspicions about the cause of the “Golden Boy’s” death.
