Trump asked a reporter to “never do that to the president of the United States” when he was interrupted while talking about the possibility of giving in to Biden.
On November 26, President Donald Trump responded to journalists’ questions for the first time during a press conference at the White House since the election. When asked by Reuters reporter Jeff Mason if he would agree to leave the White House if the electoral college confirmed Joe Biden as president-elect on December 14, Trump admitted he would do so, but has not yet expressed concessions.
“I definitely would, and you know it. But there’s no way Biden will get 80 million votes,” Trump responded, repeating the phrase several times.
He said voters “would make mistakes” if they confirmed Biden’s victory, because “this election is a fraud” and that Biden won more votes than Obama in battle states. “Unbelievable.”
“So I can’t say I’m going to lose. I think it’s possible … they’re trying, let’s see, among the people …” Trump continued.
At that point, Mason interrupted the president and asked him the following question, although Trump had not finished speaking. This infuriated him and interrupted the question.
“Never talk to the president that way. You’re a little anonymous. I am the president of the United States. Never talk to the president that way,” he barked.
Then Trump invited another reporter to question and repeat the allegations of “large-scale fraud.”
“It will be difficult to give in because we all know there is massive fraud,” he said, describing the US elections as in “a third world country.”
Biden was elected president by the US media with 306 electoral votes, compared to 232 for Trump. On November 23, the director of the Public Service Agency (GSA), Emily Murphy, announced the Trump administration is ready to begin the transition of power, the first step shows that they have recognized the defeat of the president.
Yet Trump continued his demands in the battlefield states and declared that he would win.
As usual, the states of the United States must complete the electoral process, selecting voters on December 8. The Electoral College will meet in each state on December 14 to vote for the president and the results will be sent to parliament. On January 6, 2021, the United States Congress, chaired by Vice President Mike Pence, officially determined the winner to become the 46th President of the United States.
