Daniil Medvedev wins ATP Finals for the first time

Like yesterday’s semi-finals, the ATP Finals were very tense as two players had to play the maximum number of sets. In Game 8 Thiem kept serve, Medvedev got a break point, but the Austrian player maintained a 100% ransom rate from the start of the match. The victory and defeat of the second set are determined by the tie break after the two players drew 6-6.

Medvedev lost a mini break on the first serve, Thiem increased the score to 2-0 after scoring on the first serve. It was very convenient but surprising when the Austrian player lost five points, in which he lost three mini-breaks due to counterproductive errors, Medvedev took the opportunity to move up to 5-2.

Going into the deciding set, Thiem took serve first. The Austrian player faced a triple break point in the third game, but played very bravely to win five points in a row and successfully saved the game.

The mistakes kept Thiem facing a difficult game in Game 5. After failing to make use of the first two break points, on the third break point, Medvedev scored successfully.
