President Trump tweeted again that he won the election and was immediately labeled “different from official source” by the social media giant.
US President Donald Trump posted the bold words “I have won the election” on Twitter on November 15, although the media simultaneously named Joe Biden the winner.
Just hours after being posted, President Trump’s tweet immediately attracted hundreds of thousands of likes, comments and shares. However, the tweet was quickly tagged by Twitter with the warning “Other official sources for the announcement of election results.”
Before that, the president of the United States repeatedly posted allegations of voter fraud on Twitter and confirmed his decision not to lose to Biden. “He just won in the eyes of the fake media. I lose nothing. We still have a long way to go. This is a fraudulent election,” Trump wrote. The tweet was later labeled “controversial.”
Ron Klain, Biden’s future White House chief of staff, said President Trump’s tweet showed that he recognized the fact that the Democratic candidate won the election. Klain also hopes that Biden’s team will have quick access to federal agencies.
Trump’s decision not to lose and his reluctance to hand over power to Biden has drawn criticism from many officials, including Republican leaders. Former President Obama has also criticized Trump’s actions that “endanger” American democracy.
