At least five clashes, including bombings, have been recorded along the 740-kilometer-long informal border between India and Pakistan, also known as the Line of Control (LoC), according to AFP.

The Indian military accuses Pakistan of regularly violating a two-decade-long ceasefire agreement at LoC.

“Pakistan has used mortars and other weapons, intentionally targeting civilian areas. We responded vigorously, inflicting significant damage to infrastructure and casualties to the military. Pakistani equipment,” according to the statement from the Indian army.

At least 3 Indian soldiers were killed and 3 wounded in the village of Keran (controlled by India) in disputed Kashmir.

Indian police said three more civilians were killed and at least three seriously injured in Indian-controlled areas in Kashmir. Many villagers fled the villages due to the war.

Pakistani officials said they had suffered casualties on their part, but did not release specific figures.

India and Pakistan bombed frequently throughout the LoC and always blamed each other for the clashes.
Tensions rose to a peak just five days after three Indian soldiers were killed in clashes across the LoC.
