On the morning of November 5 (Vietnam time), major US newspapers such as CNN, New York Times, Fox News and the AP simultaneously claimed that the state of Michigan with 16 electoral votes belonged to Democratic candidate Joe Biden. Biden previously won in Wisconsin and had 10 electoral votes.

According to Biden himself, Michigan won with a difference of 35,000 votes compared to his rival Donald Trump.

Appearing with vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris after a crucial victory, Biden delivered a short conciliatory speech about a winner who emerged from a battle that deeply divided America.

Trying to create a unified tone, he said it was time that Americans did not treat each other as enemies and pledged to rule the country “like an American president.” “There will be no red and blue states when we win, there will only be the United States of America,” emphasized the Democratic candidate.

The former vice president then emphasized that democracy is the heart, the pulse of the United States, and reported that about 150 million people have voted this year.

“After a long night of counting, it is clear that we are going to win enough states with the votes to help us reach our goal of 270 electoral votes to elect the presidential election,” Biden said.

The Democratic candidate, however, did not claim he had won, only that he believed he was the winner “when the count was up.

The fact that Biden has been cautious, in no rush to declare victory early and urging everyone to calmly wait for the final result is something he has long pursued.

Biden’s victory has brought him closer to the presidency than ever, but Trump has a chance if the current president wins in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia and Nevada.

Polls in Pennsylvania show Trump is ahead, as in North Carolina and Georgia. The Trump campaign has kicked off legal moves to stop counting votes in Michigan and even re-counting votes in Wisconsin on suspicion of fraud.

In particular, Nevada leans toward democracy, although the difference between the two candidates is negligible. Nevada’s electoral votes were 6, just for Biden to win and enter the White House.
