Artist Kim Xuan suggested to the HCM City Education and Training Department, the city’s high school administrators, to encourage male students to wear ao dai to salute the flag every Monday morning.

This proposal was delivered by artist Kim Xuan during the ao dai inspiration session at Marie Curie High School (HCMC) on the morning of November 2, which was attended by thousands of students.

Alongside artist Kim Xuan, there are also the image ambassadors of Ho Chi Minh City’s 2020 Ao Dai Festival such as Artist Phi Dieu, Trinh Kim Chi, Quoc Co, MC Hong Phuong, Quynh Hoa, singer Nguyen Phi Hung, Kyo York … share special memories about ao dai and wish students to love more than the nation’s traditional ao dai.

Singer Nguyen Phi Hung shared, “Hung often chooses ao dai for important events and prioritizes using ao dai to perform on stage. When he uses ao dai, Hung feels more confident.”

Artist Quoc Co is proud to wear a dai ao. And he made the Vietnamese people proud when he and his brother, artist Quoc Nghiep, wore a traditional ao dai in the final of Britain’s Got Talent.

The exhibition features 21 new Ao Dai designs from designer Viet Hung in the collection Vietnamese Ambassador Ao Dai expressed by artists through the lens of photographer Hua Quy Long.

Artists Ta Minh Tam, Van Khanh, Quy Binh, Nam Cuong, Dinh Y Nhung, Quynh Hoa, Quoc Dai, Long Nhat, Nguyen Phi Hung … shoot at famous places in Ho Chi Minh City such as the Ho Museum Chi Minh, City Post Office, Reunification Palace, Lang Ong Ba Chieu, Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, Mong Bridge … to contribute to tourism promotion in Ho Chi Minh City.

The public can also re-enjoy this collection through the performances of professional artists and models.

“On many different materials, Viet Hung put lotus flowers on ao dai with the expectation that the lotus will be recognized as the national flower, and ao dai will be recognized as the national dress,” shared designer Viet Hung.

The exhibition will run until mid-November 2020, in the lobby of the House of Youth Culture in Ho Chi Minh City.
