On the night of October 31, a man in Tra Leng (Nam Tra My district, Quang Nam, where the landslide that killed eight people occurred, 14 people are missing) was concerned for the community in line with the saying “I don’t need money, let me get a car.” He went to Quang Nam General Hospital.
After walking from a remote district to the village and hearing the news of his family’s tragic situation, he asked to hitchhike from the Tra Leng Mountains to Tam Ky to visit his wife and children who were under treatment due to the landslide. People gave money, he shook his head and said through tears: “I do not accept money, I only ask that they take me …”.
This man is Nguyen Cao Tung (32 years old, lives in Tra Leng commune). He is the father of Nguyen Tran Sa Ny (5 years old) and Ho Ha My (8 years old, stepson of his wife) injured in the landslide that the PLO wrote in the previous day’s article: “In mourning for a family in Tra Leng ”.

Mr. Tung said that while working as a laborer in Phuoc Hiep Commune (Phuoc Son District, Quang Nam), he heard people saying that Village 1, Tra Leng Commune, had been eroded and many people were missing .
“Pain! I asked the boss to come back at night, but the boss wouldn’t let me. When I got up in the morning I escaped and had to cross five streams and walk eight hours to get home. Walking dreaming, not thinking about anything , just wanting to come home and see you … ”, recalls Tung.
At 3:00 pm on October 30, he returned to the grocery store on the way home when he heard a resident say, “Don’t come back, your wife and kids have taken them all to the hospital with Tam Ky.”
Without thinking about anything, he burst into tears and headed out to the street to pick up his car and find his wife and children.
“My legs are running, my stomach is hungry. When meeting some charitable brothers and sisters, I asked to ride and they gave me money, I was afraid that they would not let me go, so I said, “I don’t accept money, I just need to order a car,” Tung said.
Tung asked to travel to Quang Nam General Hospital at 20 o’clock. When he met his wife and children, he stopped fearing because they were still alive. “There is nothing like being with relatives. Too sad because my father-in-law is gone! “With his eyes still red when he talks about the father-in-law being buried in the mountain.
