Before that, around 2 pm on October 28, Mr. Ho Van Do, Undersecretary of the Phuoc Loc Commune Youth Union and Mr. Ho Van Sinh, a communal mobilization officer, went to help the people against storm No. 9. Unfortunately, while helping people fight storms the two officers above were buried and lost to landslides in the mountains.
Late in the afternoon of October 29 the Phuoc Son district rescue team also about 20 km from the scene. This route was broken, landslides in many sections, motor vehicles could not enter, so it was only possible to walk. Travel may be stopped due to darkness.
A delegation official said that the local rescue force in Phuoc Loc commune is still trying to find the victims. The area has been out of service for days and has lost contact with third parties. At the end of this afternoon, a commune official found a spot where there was a wave and called to announce that 2 more bodies were found, increasing the number of bodies found to 5.
200 isolated workers
The Phuoc Son district leader said, in addition to those who were lost due to landslides, 200 workers at the Dak Mi 2 hydroelectric plant, located between two communes Phuoc Cong and Phuoc Loc, it is isolated, lack of food. The bridge across the Dak Mi river, near the factory, was razed and could not pass. The bridge on the way to the dam was also washed away and traffic eroded in many sections. The factory was completely submerged. 200 workers are temporarily safe, enough food to last about 2 days.
Meanwhile, at the Dak Mi 3 hydroelectric plant, because the flow from the upstream of the Dak Mi river to the lake is very large (about 10,000m3 / s), flooding the entire operating plant. There was no damage to people or structures, but the plant’s equipment was badly damaged, the road to the dam and the factory seriously damaged.
