In the fuel sector, the US Grains Council (USGC) and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Vietnam signed an agreement to strengthen the partnership between the two countries to expand the use and supply of ethanol in Vietnam. This agreement will help Vietnam meet its need for an economically and environmentally sustainable fuel.

Regarding liquefied gas power, VinaCapital and the Long An provincial government will cooperate with the US General Electric Corporation (GE) to develop a 3,000 MW capacity LNG gas power project. VinaCapital will cooperate with GE in supplying gas turbines and related equipment and services.

This project is one of the largest energy projects in southern Vietnam and offers a promising solution to the electricity shortage in the region while addressing environmental impact concerns. school.

The project is of strategic importance because it will cover approximately 8% of the country’s energy needs when it comes into operation. This is also a strategic project because it has direct access to the largest industrial park in the country and is only about 30 km from Ho Chi Minh City.

AES Corporation and Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV Gas) also signed a joint venture agreement to develop LNG Son My Warehouse Project with a value of approximately $ 1.4 billion.

The project will help shape Vietnam’s energy future by diversifying energy sources, as well as responding to Vietnam’s growing demand for sustainable and affordable electricity development.

The US ExxonMobil Group in Hai Phong, the Hai Phong City People’s Committee and the Japanese company JERA also signed a cooperation agreement to jointly implement the LNG project in Hai Phong.

The parties agreed to expand cooperation and expertise to jointly study natural gas market development opportunities, including LNG import facilities and gas fired power plants.
