The head of the Board of Directors of the Hanoi – Hai Phong Highway said that the explosion of the tanker was at 3:25 p.m. this afternoon (October 22), at Km 70 + 600, in the direction of Hai Phong – Hanoi, the section from the commune of Vinh Lap. Thanh Ha District, Hai Duong Province.
At the scene, the tanker was on fire, the plume of black smoke covering both roads, limiting visibility.
The large explosion caused a tire to fly into the opposite lane, land in a green area and catch fire.

Speaking with PV VietNamNet, Lieutenant Colonel Ha Tien Dung, Chief of the Police Department of Hai Duong Province Fire Prevention Police, said: Immediately after receiving information, the unit dispatched 3 vehicles and 30 officers and soldiers to the place.
The unit also informed Thanh Ha District Police, Highway Management Board, to divide the traffic lanes, helping fire trucks to reach the scene.

However, the number of vehicles on the road at the time of the incident was relatively crowded, so there was a traffic jam. Heading from Hai Phong to Hanoi, the Hai Duong Province Police promptly notified the Hai Phong City Police to coordinate.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Ha Tien Dung, the fire caused the tanker to burn, fortunately the fire did not cause harm to people.
Neither the license plate nor the owner of the vehicle have been determined. By 4:30 pm the fire was under control. The police agency protected the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
