Patients with a cardiac puncture are now in stable health, able to eat, drink and walk normally.

On the morning of October 22, the Thong Nhat Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City said that emergency aid for a patient with a risk of heart-piercing brain death would plant life if the emergency is 3-5 minutes late.

Patient Mr. NVH (38 years old, District 12) was taken to the emergency department at more than 1:00 am on October 18, stunned, his blood pressure was zero due to a puncture in the chest, cardiac triangle.

Because the condition of the cardiac perforation is a direct threat to the life of the patient, the doctors decided to immediately go to the operating room for surgery without performing any other procedures.

Patients can only have rapid HIV and blood type tests. Activities such as conducting diagnostic tests, taking medical records, and explaining to relatives are temporarily sheltered, focusing on the timely treatment of patients.

The patient continued to lower blood pressure, the doctor performed resuscitation and performed emergency surgery. After opening the chest, doctors discovered that a 2 cm cardiac hole in the front of the right ventricle causes a free flow of blood into the pericardium and causes the heart to almost stop beating.

After removing the blood clot, the doctor discovered a hole in the right ventricle. The surgical team urgently sutures the open heart and transports blood through 4-5 transmission lines.

After stitching up the wound and stopping the bleeding, the patient was in critical condition. In the afternoon of the same day, the patient was intubated and fully awake, vital signs were completely stable.

Dr. Truong Nguyen Hoai Linh, Thong Nhat Hospital Chest and Blood Vessel Department, said: “If you follow the regulations, such as asking relatives to explain, take the patient to take X-rays, CT scans, super negative .. then the patient certainly does not survive.

With this stab position and this clinical condition, 99% of the heart is perforated. Therefore, if the patient stays a long time, it is difficult for the patient to survive, urgently need to open the patient’s chest to find a solution, put the patient’s life first.

Currently, the patient’s health is stable, he walks, lives and eats normally.
