The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue in Ha Tinh Province plans to destroy the Ke Go Lake spillway to ensure the safety of the project, which has yet to be implemented.

Tran Duy Chien, deputy director of the Ha Tinh Irrigation Department, said that on the morning of October 19, when the water level of Ke Go Lake rose to an altitude of 33.8 m, it exceeded the safety threshold of 32, 5 m, the province was considering the contingency plan is to destroy the Ke Go lake overflow.

However, at 7:00 pm tonight, the rains have decreased, the water level is 33.7 m, so the province does not use this plan. According to Mr. Chien, the next plan to regulate the water in the lake is to open two discharge gates, with a flow rate of 840 m3 / second.

The spillway is a technical language that does not use the hand of work to excavate. “What,” Chien said and said, if it spills, the area downstream of Ke Go Lake will be badly affected.

This morning, the Ha Tinh Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue announced that at 8:00 am on October 19, Lake Ke Go discharges with a flow rate of 950 m3 / second; If the rain continues, in 8 hours, the water level in the lake exceeds the height of 35.0 m, which creates a risk of insecurity in the dam.

“The province plans to destroy the incident to discharge floods, this is an urgent situation that must be taken into account,” says the document.
