On October 17, the Tien Giang Province Center for Disease Control took the baby’s medical sample and sent it to the city’s Pasteur Institute. Ho Chi Minh test. The same day results showed that the patient was positive for SARS-CoV-2. The patient is currently in isolation and treated at Long Dinh Field Hospital, Tien Giang Province.

Patient 1133 He is a man, 23 years old, Vietnamese nationality, he is a monk in Myanmar, with addresses in Tan Thanh, Binh Tan, Vinh Long.

On October 15, the two previous patients from Myanmar to Vietnam on flight VJ2735, entering Cam Ranh airport. After that, they concentrated in isolation at the C19 Training Company – Khanh Hoa Province Border Guard.

On October 16, they were sampled by the Khanh Hoa Province Center for Disease Control and sent to the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute for analysis, and the results were positive for SAR-CoV-2 on October 18. Currently, both patients are in isolation and treated at Cam Ranh Regional General Hospital.

Thus, as of 6:00 p.m. on October 18, Vietnam had registered 1,134 people infected by Covid-19, of which 691 cases were caused by domestic infections. In the last 45 days, our country has not registered new cases in the community.

The total number of published cases to cure in the country is still 1,031 cases. Of the 95 still on treatment, 12 patients were negative for SARS-CoV-2 three times in a row, 4 were negative a second time, and 7 were negative for the first time. The number of deaths caused by Covid-19 remains at 35 to date.

Regarding the quarantine situation, the number of people in close contact and entering from the quarantine area increased slightly compared to the previous days. To date, Vietnam has quarantined 13,515 people, including 162 cases of hospital isolation, 12,166 people in other centralized isolation facilities, the rest in homes and places of residence.
