Mr. Tran Thuc Bao, a security guard at the National University dormitory in Ho Chi Minh City, has just retired after almost 20 years working at his job. To bid farewell to this devoted guard, the students threw a “dorm graduation” party for him.
Called the graduation ceremony because he “passed,” a subject that students believe needs a lot of responsibility and love. And in the hearts of many students, he certainly “graduated with a degree class Excellent”.
Mr. Bao shared: “The secret for students to like me, I have no special secret, just consider students as your children. I give my sincere love, so what I get is love and appreciation. And I consider it a legacy of nothing more precious. “
Mr. Bao’s main job is to maintain order and safety. But his actions of concern and closeness make him the “national father” of many generations of students here. If someone has been in the dormitory at the National University of Ho Chi Minh City long enough, surely it is impossible not to meet the security guard who always smiles kindly at the students entering and leaving the dormitory.
Many students tend to come home late from work and if they see their turn, he always feels safe because he always stays awake to open the door and asks questions and encourages. Sometimes his reminders to bring umbrellas and raincoats warmed the students.
On the day of paying the room, many students had no money, he lent money or told the head of the house to give him a few more days to manage it. There was good food, I always packed, reserved and shared a little for each.
Hoa Nguyen, a student in the dorm, shared: “The first few days I walked into the dorm, I was warmed by your kind smile. Every now and then there were gifts and cakes that I gave. Pack sticky rice and sweets. Or the cake. fruit is not expensive, the face is your attention and consideration but people cannot buy with money ”.
Life away from home is not easy when someone kindly smiles at me every day, encourages comfort, cares … There is a guard like Mr. Bao, students who are away from home feel warm by whole mind.
