North Korea has confirmed that it has established a university in the name of leader Kim Jong-un, although specific details have not been released.

Reporting on the October 10 parade, the Korean news agency KCNA said that students from the “Kim Jong-un National Defense University” also participated in the parade and praised the school “produced many talented people in technology and defending “.

This is believed to be the first time that North Korea has established a university named after its current leader, although many schools are named after founder Kim Nhat Thanh and the late leader Kim Jong-il, Kim Jong’s father. -United Nations.

KCNA did not provide further details on this new school. However, based on its name, it can be seen that the school specializes in training students in science and technology related to weapons development.

Experts say the school could be established by merging a defense university in Kanggye city, Jagang province, with a university in Pyongyang’s suburbs famous for its cyber warfare.

Leader Kim Jong-un showed great interest in the application of scientific and technological means for the development of missiles and other weapons systems.

During a large-scale parade that took place in Kim Nhat Thanh Square in the capital Pyongyang on the morning of October 10, North Korea launched many new weapons, including long-range ballistic missiles. This is part of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Korean Workers’ Party and the first time Pyongyang has held a parade in three years.
