On the morning of October 14, the opening session of the 16th Hai Phong City Party Congress (period 2020-2025) took place at the Cultural Palace of Labor Friendship of the Czech Republic and Vietnam.

Reporting to Congress, Mr. Le Van Thanh – Hai Phong City Party Committee Secretary said that in the past 5 years (2015-2020), the economic indicators have grown well. The growth rate of gross domestic product (GDP) in Hai Phong has continuously reached a high level: on average, in the 5 years 2016-2020, it will increase by 14.02% / year, 1.34 times higher than the goal of the XV Resolution Congress. production and 2.1 times higher than the national growth rate.
The per capita GDP of the city in 2020 is estimated at USD 5,863, 1.93 times higher than in 2015 and 1.95 times higher than the national average. Total state budget revenue in the province has grown dramatically. In 5 years, it reached 408,498 million VND, 1.6 times more than in the period 2011-2015.
