The first meeting of the Hanoi Party Committee elected Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue to serve as Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the period 2020-2025.

Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, 63 years old this year, from Nghi Xuan, Nghi Loc, Nghe An, is a professor, doctor of economics, senior political theory. He studied a doctorate in economics in Slovakia.

After graduating from university, Mr. Hue worked for 22 years at Hanoi University of Finance and Accounting in many different positions. In July 2001, he was appointed Deputy Auditor General of the State; five years later, he served as the State Auditor General.

In August 2011 he held the position of Minister of Finance and in December 2012 the Politburo appointed him as Head of the Central Economic Committee, at the same time as Minister of Finance until May 2013.

Mr. Hue’s wife is Ms. Nguyen Van Chi, born in 1966, and has a PhD in Foreign Trade Economics from the Economic University of Prague (Czech Republic). He is also a member of the National Assembly and serves as a permanent member of the Finance Committee of the National Assembly.
