On October 6, 2020, a patient from India entered Tan Son Nhat Airport on flight 6E9471 and was transferred to isolation in Ho Chi Minh City. On October 7, 2020, a sample was taken from the patient for the first time and the results were negative for SAR-CoV-2.
On 10/10/2020, the patient started with symptoms of fever, headache. On October 11, 2020, a sample was taken from the patient a second time and it tested positive for SAR-CoV-2. Currently, the patient is isolated and treated at the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
Previously, there were 6 positive cases for the SARS-CoV-2 virus on this flight in Dong Thap province (5) and in Dong Nai (1).
The total number of people in close contact and entry from the epidemic area is under medical supervision (quarantine): 16,160. According to the report of the National Steering Committee for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic the day that 899 patients are declared cured.
