Speaking to VietNamNet tonight, President Phan Ngoc Tho said that army forces, local authorities and other rescue forces are still on their way to the site of the Rao Trang 3 hydroelectric collapse.
“My team and I are going to the scene. However, due to the serious landslides on the road, we still cannot access and we do not know the specific information on the number of people in danger, ”said Mr. Tho.
Mr. Tho also shared that because the rain was too strong, it was dark, the road to the hydroelectric power area was too dangerous until 7:15 p.m., he and the mission still could not access the site. Therefore, there is no specific information about the damage, especially the human damage caused by the landslide.
Rao Trang 3 Hydropower obtained the investment license at the beginning of November 2008. The installed capacity is 11MW, with a total investment capital of 290.8 billion VND. The estimated land use area is 11.1 ha, of which the area of the reservoir bed is 8.8 ha, the rest is the factory area, pressure line, power line and auxiliary works.
