The Da Nang – Quang Ngai highway project is 139,204 km long, passing through Da Nang city, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai, officially opened the entire route on September 2, 2018.

In June 2019, the Police Department investigating the Ministry of Public Security prosecuted a criminal security case against building regulations, leading to serious consequences.
The investigation of the Ministry of Public Security said that the quality of construction works for 7/7 packages (65 km) belonging to phase 1 of the Da Nang – Quang Ngai highway project, from the foundation, foundation and surface of the highway. Failure to comply with technical standards, project design requirements is the cause of damage to the work.
