On October 6, the head of the Hai Phong City Health Department said that the unit had just received a document from the KCVN Company announcing a case of an alleged Japanese case of COVID-19.
Specifically, the suspected case is that Mr. TK (33 years old, Japanese nationality) works at KCVN company, Thuy Nguyen district, currently Mr. TK lives in Le Chan district.
Before that, Mr. TK went to Vietnam to work from June 26, 2018 to October 5, 2020, flew back to Japan on Asianna Airline OZ flight 112, landed in Osaka, Japan at 10 : 10 the same day.
According to information from Mr. TK, after landing at Osaka Airport, the test by PCR method showed positive results for COVID-19.
It is known that Mr. TK has come to Vietnam to work from June 26, 2018 until last October, when he flew back to Japan. Before that, when he was in Hai Phong, Mr. TK would not travel anywhere other than to take a daily bus with 13 people and take the TT company driver from place to work.
Before returning to Japan, Mr. TK organized a farewell party for his colleagues.
Immediately after receiving information about this case, the Hai Phong Health Department took urgent action to handle the outbreak. Through a quick review, 162 cases of F1 have been identified, currently isolated at home.
125 test samples were taken and sent to the City’s Center for Preventive Medicine for analysis. District health centers continue to investigate and review F2 cases.
In addition, the Health Department ordered the disinfection of Mr. TK’s workplace and residence, blocked the entire fifth floor of the Roygent Parks Hotel in the Le Chan district, including 13 rooms, disinfectant spray and antidote on the fifth floor. and the hotel reception area. Seclusion for 6 people is the receptionist, the hotel room service staff while waiting for the results of the second test.
The Department of Health asks the KCVN company to continue talking to Mr. TK in Japan for information on the test results next time. At the same time, continue to track close contact cases and people in close contact with the patient (F1, F2) to collect samples, implement appropriate health control measures and medical isolation.
