Bayern received 2 new recruits at the same time

In recent years, Bayern have been very charming with the loan deals with star players who have been left behind in their home team. True to this philosophy, the Bayern Board of Directors on the last day of the 2020 summer transfer window carried out loan operations of two players at the same time.

On the team’s official Twitter page, the Bayern club confirmed that it had successfully recruited Juventus winger Douglas Costa. Unlike James, Coutinho and Perisic in the past, this agreement is simply a short-term loan agreement with no release clause.

Around the same time that the contract with Douglas Costa was signed, Bayern also presented forward Choupo-Moting, on loan from PSG for a period of 1 year, as of 6/30/2021 and also without purchase conditions.

The presence of Douglas Costa will help coach Hansi Flick to have more options for the winger position, which has many quality names such as Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman. Meanwhile, Choupo-Moting is a strategic reserve card for striker Robert Lewandoswki, when Bayern will fight in many arenas next season.

If Choupo-Moting were to play for Bayern for the first time, for Costa, this would be the second time that a Brazilian player has played for the Allianz Arena team. Costa emerged wearing the Shakhtar Donest jersey and was drafted by Bayern in 2015 and remained with the Bavarian team until 2018.

During his three years with Bayern, Costa won two Bundesliga titles, but was loaned out to Juventus in the 2017/18 season, before the Serie A champions decided to buy the 30-year-old. However, this season, Costa has no place when new coach Andrea Pirlo takes over the coaching bench.

Therefore, only on the last day of the 2020 summer transfer period, Bayern received 3 recruits. In addition to Choupo-Moting and Douglas Costa, Gray Lobster previously jointly completed the acquisition of young player Marc Roca from Espanyol.
