MU legend Ryan Giggs has spoken out on rumors that the Red Devils have struck a deal with forward Edinson Cavani on a free transfer basis.

A number of UK newspapers confirmed that MU had reached an agreement to recruit forward Edinson Cavani on a free transfer. The 1987-born star signed a 1-year contract with MU, with an additional 12-month extension.

At Old Trafford he will receive £ 200,000 a week. More recently, Cavani’s representative, Walter Guglielmone, confirmed that his client was preparing to dock at MU with a free transfer.
“The information MU wants to sign with Cavani is completely authentic. We have reached an agreement with Manchester United.”

“Cavani has scored 200 goals in 301 appearances for PSG. He is one of the best midfielders in Europe at the moment. MU lacks a forward like Cavani, I support the club to hire him. It will be the right contract for Solskjaer’s team.
“Cavani scored in the match between Uruguay and Wales, I was impressed by his speed and his ability to shoot. Falcao, Di María and Sánchez, the closest South Americans have not done much in MU But I think Cavani will be different.”
