Some military sites identified the version of the ballistic missile that Armenia recently used to be Tochka-U. This version has a total weight of 2,010 kg, a length of 6.4 m and a warhead diameter of 0.65 m. Tochka-U has a range of approximately 120 km and a concentric target deviation (CEP) of 95 m.

The Tochka ballistic missile has a long combat history, having fought in Chechnya, Syria, as well as being frequently fired by the Houthi movement against Saudi military bases. Between September 2015 and January 2016 alone, four Houthi Tochka missile launches resulted in victims of Saudi Arabia with more than 400 soldiers.
