In 3 days running software to determine the benchmark in 2020 (from 2 to 4.10), the Ministry of Education and Training will conduct virtual filtering twice a day. It is expected that on the night of 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on October 5, schools will simultaneously announce the benchmark. This year’s benchmark image is projected to rise “hot” in the economic sector, medicine, information technology.
Candidates are only admitted to 1 of the highest priority aspirations
According to the registration schedule of the Ministry of Education and Training (Education and Training), from October 2 to 10, universities across the country will conduct a virtual filter to determine the selected candidates.
According to Adjunct Professor Dr. Tran Trung Kien, Head of the Admissions Department at Hanoi University of Technology, this year the school remains the North group’s technical support unit. During the 3 days of virtual filtering, the group of 52 northern universities will run the virtual filter 12 times, alternating with 6 times from the Ministry of Education and Training.
The Southern University group this year has 90 universities participating in virtual filtering. The National University of Ho Chi Minh City remains the presiding unit. The group will perform a virtual filter 10 times between runs of virtual filters of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Virtual filtering is, in fact, a very significant work of the Ministry of Education and Training, the universities, which helps students with good or high scores without the risk of not graduating due to an inappropriate selection of schools.
The principle of the virtual evaluation for admission is as follows: Schools conduct admission according to the Wish List (NV) that the candidates have registered.
Admissions software from the Ministry of Education and Training will be provided to schools and will determine that each candidate is only admitted as a higher priority employee. For example, candidates register 10 aspirations and all pass all of these aspirations. But according to regulations, candidates can only be admitted to the highest ranked NV. When running the software, NVs 2, 3, 4 … will be removed, helping schools to accurately determine the number of candidates selected and reducing the rate of virtual aspirations.
According to the Director of the Department of Higher Education Nguyen Thu Thuy, in 2020, the virtual filtering software has added a number of functions to support the university admissions work, in the context of this year there are more ways of admission to the university . For example, the feature for schools to convert test scores of candidates with foreign language certificates …
The virtual filtering principle of this software is as follows: Universities and colleges install the software according to the admission method they choose. The schools then download the enrollment data from the country’s general data system, including test scores, admission aspirations, regional information, priority subjects … This data is encrypted.
Candidates who pass the exam and confirm admission by any admissions method will be entered into the system using the encryption method of the original high school graduation certificate. As a result, upon entering the system, these candidates will not be included in another form of admission. Since then, the number of virtual contestants has been minimized.
Then the universities and colleges download the data. In this database, the school board establishes benchmarks that are expected to be accepted.
“Hot” on the high school block
After aspiration adjustment, in addition to highly competitive industries such as police, military or medical school branches, information technology industries or some high-tech industries. The economy is also chosen by many candidates.
According to adjunct professor Dr. Vu Thi Hien, director of the training department of the University of Foreign Trade, this year there are almost 20,000 aspirations to enroll in school. In which, the number of registrations to economic groups is still the highest.
The representative of the University of Foreign Trade said that this year’s enrollment aspirations were similar to last year, but the university has contracted 50% of the fee through other means, so the benchmark will increase.
According to Dr. Nguyen Dao Tung, deputy director of the Academy of Finance, the number of aspirations to enroll in the school also increased after the adjustment. The Finance Academy benchmark is projected to increase by 0.5-3 points in 2020 compared to 2019.
The benchmark index in 2020 is also projected to rise “hot” in top schools, schools that have affirmed their marks.
Despite high competition rates and strict regulations, the proportion of candidates enrolling in medical schools, the police, the military, or the information technology and economic sectors has increased. Meanwhile, the best middle and bottom universities, the standard scores are not high, but enrollment is still very difficult, even struggling.
