According to Reuters, from 2 to 10 pm Vietnam, at least three of the world’s largest British sportsbooks – Ladbrokes, Paddy Power (based in Ireland) and online betting platform Betfair – announced that they would stop. Gambling activities in the US elections on November 3.

In the incident statement, a spokesperson for sportsbook Ladbrokes said it will wait for further updates before there are any adjustments. This house does not forget to send wishes to the American president and his wife about their recovery.

Before that, on Wednesday (September 30), the Betfair dealer had set Joe Biden’s win rate at 60% after the first presidential debate. This rate has increased from 56% in the pre-controversial period. Meanwhile, Trump’s win rate fell to 40%.

Political gambling is illegal in the US but it is allowed and popular in the UK.

The world’s leading sportsbooks such as Paddy Power, Betfair, Ladbrokes and William Hill have suffered severe revenue declines in recent years as global sports activities have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.
