BrotherWithout using the strongest team, Man Utd still defeated first class team Luton Town 3-0 in the third round of the League Cup, on the night of September 22.

Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced 10 players compared to the starting lineup in a 1-3 loss to Crystal Palace at the weekend. Only Captain Harry Maguire is being held. Goalkeeper Dean Henderson and rookie Donny Van de Beek make their first inning in the starting lineup, and both play well.
After Juan Mata managed to give Man Utd the lead at the end of the first half, Henderson dropped the most memorable ball of the match. The 23-year-old goalkeeper blocked a Tom Lockyer header from close range with one hand, preventing Man Utd from leveling in the second half of the second half.

After Henderson was rescued, Coach Solskjaer probably sensed the danger from Luton. He threw Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood onto the field. In the final minutes of the match, the pair scored two goals. Greenwood helped Rashford in the 88th minute, before making it 3-0 in the first minute of injury time.

This is Coach Solskjaer’s 50th win, out of a total of 92 leading Man Utd matches. Only Ernest Mangnall (78 games) and José Mourinho (81 games) reached the 50 mark with fewer games than Solskjaer.
In the fourth round, Man Utd will face Preston or Brighton. Brighton is also Man Utd’s next opponent in the Premier League this weekend.
