The victim was Ms. Tran Thi Mung, 52, temporarily residing in Doc Mo 2 Village, Gia Tan 1 Commune, Thong Nhat District.
Initially, at 5:5 p.m. on the same day, Ms. Mung wore a helmet and a raincoat to walk along the side of Duc Huy – Thanh Binh Street, the section of Doc Mo Village, Gia Tan Commune 1. While walking, Ms Mung regrettably fell into a ditch along the road and was washed away. Seeing that, the people in the house discovered that they ran to help, but could not get there in time.
At the Mung crash site, the trench was about 1 m deep, about 0.5 m wide, and had no lid. Currently the water has been drained.
According to people, due to heavy rains, many roads were heavily flooded, of which Highway 20, the section passing through Thong Nhat district, was flooded about half a meter deep, resulting in the deaths of dozens of motorcycles and traffic jams of more than 5 km.

Before the accident happened, people quickly rescued an 8-year-old girl from school who had fallen into this ditch.
“The first is a student that I saved, and the second could not save him. Many students on this path are very dangerous. I hope the government will help the people soon” – Nguyen Thanh Tung, witnesses on the spot, said.
Around 8:00 p.m., dozens of soldiers from the rescue and rescue force coordinated with local authorities to search along the trench.
