“Most of the broken electric poles are prestressed centrifugal concrete columns manufactured according to the new TCVN 5487: 2016 standard, assessed by the General Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality and announced by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

This type of column uses a high-strength concrete reinforcement, which is stretched by a tension tractor, reaching a certain tension value. Before being shipped to the construction site, all columns must undergo an experiment that meets Vietnamese standards in order to be used and accepted, ”said Mr. Phuc.

Also according to the Deputy Director of TT-Hue Power Company, Typhoon No. 5 with strong wind accompanied by a tornado, the electric poles that withstand the bending force and the torsional force of the storm should break.
