Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc agrees with the Finance Ministry’s proposal to charge concentrated medical isolation fees to enter Vietnam.

Accordingly, in case a person entering Vietnam wishes to perform isolation in a hotel, resort or other establishment selected as a centralized isolation site and approved by the competent authority, the person will pay for it. The expenses of food, accommodation and stay in the isolation period for hotels, resorts or other establishments are at the prices set by the hotels, resorts or other establishments.

Persons entering Vietnam to conduct concentrated isolation in military barracks, military schools, and other establishments designated by competent state agencies as concentrated isolation must pay their own. food expenses are 80,000 VND / day; the cost of meeting the necessities of daily living during the days of medical isolation is 40,000 VND / day.

The Prime Minister requires that all foreigners entering Vietnam purchase international health insurance covering the scope of payment for medical examinations and treatments in Vietnam according to their period of stay in Vietnam.

At the same time, all entry into Vietnam must comply with the test order for SARS-CoV-2 and pay the medical center test fee according to the current rates for medical services.

As for the cost of the examination and treatment of the Covid-19 disease, for the Vietnamese, it will continue to be covered by the state budget in accordance with the provisions of Clause 2, Article 48 of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act.

In the case of foreigners, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Health to assume primary responsibility and coordinate with ministries and agencies interested in promptly informing the Government for presentation to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the Assembly National for the consideration and amendment of Clause 2. Article 48 of the Law on prevention and control of infectious diseases is adapted to the current situation.

Regarding the cost of examination and treatment for other illnesses during the period of concentrated medical isolation, for individuals with health insurance, health insurance agencies, organizations and companies that pay part of the cost of examination and treatment. within the scope of the right to health insurance; Individuals pay for patient copays and out-of-scope health insurance expenses (if applicable).

For those who do not have health insurance, individuals will pay the full cost of the medical examination and treatment at prices established by the competent authorities in accordance with the law on medical examinations and treatments.

The above provisions apply to cases of entry into Vietnam and centralized isolation as of September 1, 2020.

Regarding the collection of isolation fees and test costs for cases that wish to perform isolation in a hotel, resort or other establishment selected as a centralized isolation place, it will be done from August 24. 2020 under the direction of the Prime Minister in Official Office No. 7038 / VPCP-KTTH dated August 24, 2020 from the Government Office.

The Prime Minister also assigned the Ministry of Finance the main responsibility and coordination with the Ministries: National Defense, Health and the relevant agencies to urgently propose accommodation rates during the isolation period in the military barracks. equipment, military schools and other establishments selected by the competent state bodies as concentrated places of isolation and submits them to the Prime Minister and the Government for their consideration and decision.
