To prepare for human resources in the context of globalization, Minister Phung Xuan Nha said that it is important to improve the quality of education in each country. In the last decade, the ASEAN bloc as a whole has made significant progress in social progress indicators, especially in basic education. The governments of the member countries also expressed their determination and support for the international integration of higher education.
Investing in human resource development is not just about new training and retraining, but also about recognizing and utilizing trained and qualified human resources. The ASEAN Economic Community has agreed to sign agreements on the mutual recognition of skilled labor at all levels.
The Southeast Asian university network established in 1995 has so far grown to include 30 official member universities from 10 countries, including 3 Vietnamese universities. This is a great milestone in equitable recognition of the quality of work among ASEAN countries.
In particular, the ASEAN Qualifications Framework adopted in 2014 is a joint effort by member countries to create a platform to compare and compare qualifications and qualifications. This framework will also aim to support and promote the development of lifelong learning in member countries.
“Aware of this importance, Vietnamese agencies, especially the Ministry of Education and Training, have made efforts to build a Vietnamese Qualifications Framework. Equip students with digital transformation skills
According to Minister Phung Xuan Nha, this ASEAN Summit on Human Resource Development is a great opportunity to exchange and share experiences in human resource development of each country and community. thereby promoting a prosperous and prosperous people-centered ASEAN community.
Sharing more in a discussion session in the framework of the conference with the theme “Future-proofed education and training systems to promote 21st century skills,” said the head of Vietnam’s Education sector. Since digital competence is essential for each student, the practice of digital skills must be developed early, from the first levels in simple formats, appropriate for ages.
“Recognizing this problem, the education sector has focused on equipping students with digital transformation skills at all levels, with the aim of forming a generation of population. Looking back on the digital transformation process right during the Covid-19 outbreak, schools had to temporarily close, Minister Phung Xuan Nha said, with the slogan “pause school, never stop studying”, The Ministry of Education and Training has directed and instructed schools to rapidly switch to online teaching organizations where it is difficult to apply television teaching; at the same time, there are instructions for testing, evaluating and recognizing the results of online teaching.
As a result, more than 80% of schools have applied online teaching and assessment at different levels, ensuring the implementation of the 2019-2020 school year plan.
At the conference, Minister Phung Xuan Nha called on ASEAN Ministers of Education to come together to build a uniform set of digital HR skills standards across the region, towards a level of digital HR among member countries, creating high quality Human Resources, ready to connect, share, participate in the digital economy and digital society not only in each country but also in the entire ASEAN community.
The ASEAN Labor and Education Ministerial Meeting on “Human Resource Development in a Changing World of Work” is considered one of the highlights of the five ASEAN presidents of Vietnam.
