The Meeting also agreed to strengthen complementarity and coordination with ASEAN and existing Mekong cooperation frameworks. The Ministers also highlighted the importance of subregional development for the ASEAN Community building process and welcomed the efforts to strengthen cohesion between subregional cooperation with ASEAN.
In the field of cooperationThe ministers agreed that the Mekong-US partnership will focus on four areas, including: economic connectivity; sustainable management of water resources, natural resources and protection of the environment; Non-traditional security; and human resource development.
