Bac NinhNguyen Van Thien, 47, owner of the Hien Thien Grill Nhien Restaurant, was charged with humiliating others 21 days after making a guest kneel to apologize.

According to the indictment issued by the Bac Ninh City VKS on September 7, Thien and Lang Van Van, 27, were prosecuted under clause 2 of article 155 of the 2015 Penal Code with penalties of 3 months to 2 years.

Around 11:30 PM on August 17, Hien, 27, and his friends went to the Hien Thien restaurant to grill Hien Thien, owned by Thien. With the plate immature, Hien discovered there was a fluke and asked to meet with the manager, but was not satisfied.

At home, Hien should post information on the Facebook group about snacks to warn people. At around 9:50 am on August 18, the suspect Thien asked Hien to come to the store to clear up the “misunderstanding.” Here, the merchant forced her to kneel on the ground to speak, curse, threaten, point her hand at her face.

While recording the video to live the entire incident on social media, Thien only forced Hien to sign the report with the apology read by Thien to write to Van. The owner also asked him to correct the information posted on social media.

Hien Thien Grilled Restaurant has two establishments operating in the city of Bac Ninh for more than 10 years. The location of the case was the facility located on Nguyen Dang Dao Street, Dai Phuc District, of more than 100 m2. Thien and his wife directly run the operation of this facility with more than 10 service employees.
