From 2011 to date, the competent forces have seized 188 firearms and more than 2,500 bullets of all kinds, five times more than the arms seized in the same period. Transshipment and re-export of drugs and precursors throughout the city on an increasingly large scale and with more diverse themes.
Drug users get more and more rejuvenated and consume many drugs at the same time, especially using synthetic drugs in sensitive service places like bars, discos, motels, ….
Mr. Nhan said that Ho Chi Minh City with 924 bars, discos, beer clubs … and more than 3,500 hotels and guesthouses can become a place for illegal drug use. Drug offenses are easy to exploit to buy, sell, seduce, and attract drug users, posing many drug prevention challenges.
According to Nhan, from 2011 to early 2020, the city police discovered, investigated and uncovered 15,553 drug cases, arrested 32,487 subjects, processed 11,874 cases with almost 16,000 defendants.
In the next time, the City Police will bring a direction to prevent the supply of drugs to the city, improve the effectiveness of detoxification; promote solutions to renew the content of the forms of informative propaganda; enhance initiative and promote the central role of the police force; strengthen inter-institutional coordination in the verification of sensitive service sites
At the conference, Undersecretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang said that today it has never been easier to buy drugs in sensitive service places such as bars and nightclubs. The number of drugs seized no longer in kilograms but in tons, drug addicts and drug-related crimes are increasing every year.

The authorities must issue social warnings, especially to adolescents, about the dangers of drugs. CFunctional forces need the best coordination in the context of many difficulties in policy mechanisms and drug prevention forces.

Also, Mr. Quang said that it is necessary to have policies to support drug addicts to integrate into their lives. District police chiefs have to reduce the number of new drug addicts and relapse addicts in the locality.
