Specifically, according to associate professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, director of the Department of Food Safety (Ministry of Health), on the afternoon of August 19, the Department of Food Safety received a phone call from the Poison Control Center, announced the Bach Mai Hospital. a couple of patients are being treated for surveillance for suspected botulinum poisoning. Through the Poison Control Center investigation, the previous two patients used Pate Minh Chay products from Alternative Living Two Members Co., Ltd., the last time they used them was in late July.
Immediately, on the same day of August 19, the Department issued an express dispatch requesting the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene of the city of Hanoi to coordinate with local authorities to investigate and verify the information.
On August 20, the inspection team of the Hanoi Food Safety and Hygiene Division inspected the production facilities of Alternative Living Two-Member Limited Company in Dong Anh City, Hanoi. Accordingly, this is a production facility managed and certified by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (Hanoi Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Quality Control). products as of January 3, 2020.

On August 25, the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene announced that initial results from patient samples and the pâté box were positive for clostridium botulinum but atypical. The National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene recommends adding cultivation time for accurate results.
With this initial result, both the technical, treatment and management agencies have confirmed insufficient reasons to conclude that the Clostridium botulinum infection in the Minh Chay pate product is due to the production process or also. process using. Therefore, the Department of Food Safety has asked the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene to test and return the results urgently as soon as possible for whole canned Minh Chay pâté products.
In the late afternoon of August 28, the Department received the test results from the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Public Health and detected the bacteria clostridium botulinum in the Pate Minh Chay product. At the same time, at 6 pm on the same day, the Department also received a notification of the test results of the canned Minh Chay pâté product from the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene that also detected the bacterium clostridium botulinum.

Therefore, on the morning of August 29, the Department issued an urgent notice requesting the withdrawal of Alternative Living Two-Member Co., Ltd. At the same time, the Department sends an official dispatch to the Department of Health, the Board of Food Safety Management of Bac Ninh, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Subdepartment of Food Safety and Hygiene in the cities and provinces affiliated to the center. review, monitor, recall products and advertise widely in the media so that people do not use Alternative Living Two Member Company products.
